The target date for Bluepeak Broadband to begin laying cable and stringing lines throughout Grand Forks is May 16th.
The internet provider is looking to invest $28 million dollars on 58 miles of aerial and 110 miles of underground fiber throughout the city.
Company officials traveled to Grand Forks on Monday to break ground for a warehouse on South 48th Street. Bluepeak’s Lucas Peterson told council members the goal is to have service available for the first 4,500 customers later this year.
The company plans to offer internet and TV packages. Prices will range between $50 and $100 dollars for internet based on speed – and $50 to $120 on TV packages. Neighborhoods will be notified prior to the construction.
