RED River cresting in GF / EGF

By Doug Barrett Apr 27, 2022 | 8:55 AM

The National Weather Service has lowered the crest outlook for Grand Forks / East Grand Forks by two feet. The Red River is expected to top out at around 46 feet – or 18 feet over flood stage. The river has been fluctuating just under the mark.

In Oslo the “Red” is inching towards a crest of 37.7 feet…less than a foot below the all-time record.
Drayton could see 42 feet early next week.

Gov. Doug Burgum plans to ask for federal help in dealing with damaging floods and a severe winter storm that left thousands without electricity. Burgum has issued a statewide emergency in the aftermath of a spring storm last weekend that brought freezing rain that developed into blizzard conditions. He plans to request presidential disaster declarations for both events to unlock federal assistance to help pay for snow removal and infrastructure repairs.
