If you received a traffic ticket in Grand Forks last year you were not alone. The department issued 8,593 citations of various types in 2021 – the 4th highest total in the last 10 years.
Speeding tickets topped the tally with 1,756…police stopped 426 motorists for running stop signs and red lights….and made 242 DUI arrests. Although DUI’s were up in 2021 they are down from the 328 arrests ten years ago.
A year-end analysis says there were also 192 injury crashes in Grand Forks – including five fatalities.
