Feeling better about COVID-19 the Grand Forks Health Department has dropped its color-coded chart for detailing community risk.
Although the four colored health officer dashboard is being retired local health officials will still produce a shortened daily update. The dashboard was launched in the summer of 2020 – and was slightly modified in 2021.
The health department’s Michael Dulitz says they will rely on the CDC’s three tier system as a primary indicator for risk levels. “Based on our evaluation we are at a low level. The CDC updates their website on a weekly basis. Low level comes with no recommendation of mask wearing.”
Dulitz says only 2.7% of staffed hospital beds are being used to treat COVID patients.
New case counts have dropped into the single digits for Grand Forks County in recent days – with only one new case identified on Monday.
