A report of a stuck vehicle early this morning resulted in officers taking cover and waiting for backup.

The GFPD was notified that a vehicle was in the snow bank on the 700 block of 40th Avenue South around 3:30 a.m.    Authorities arrive on scene and spotted a black Dodge Avenger stuck in a drift, not running, with one male subject in the car.

Officers approached the vehicle and attempted to make contact with the individual.  The subject did not comply with officers orders to step out of the vehicle and began rummaging through the car.

Officers heard several loud noises from within the vehicle and took positions of cover.  They repeatedly ordered the subject out of the car but he would not initially comply.

Police brought in an armored vehicle and utilized the loud speaker to make contact with the individual.  They were able to get him to exit the vehicle and  into custody.  The incident is still under investigation at this time.
