The distribution of more than 1.5 million free at-home COVID-19 test kits is underway across North Dakota. Grand Forks County health officials estimate that they will receive around 100-thousand kits. Right now they are available at ten locations – including Northwood and Larimore.
County Health Director Deb Swanson says they are working to set up sites in other communities as well.
Swanson says there has been a significant decline in local case counts since the second week in January – but they are still keeping a close watch on hospital stays.
Swanson adds they continue to see high numbers among those 20-29 and are working to find “creative” ways to encourage more in that age group to get vaccinated.
