A Republican State Representative says he’s running for the U. S. Senate against incumbent Senator John Hoeven. Rick Becker announced earlier this year that he was not seeking re-election to his Bismarck House seat.
Becker says he’s a true conservative and it’s time for voters to make a choice. During his first legislative session, Becker formed the Bastiat Causcus, named after French political philosopher Frederic Bastiat. The loosely organized group fervently supports limited government and spending and privacy and gun rights.
Becker says he’s the exact opposite of a career politician. The District 7 lawmaker has served in the North Dakota House since 2013.
