
A Blizzard Warning for Grand Forks has been replaced by a Winter Weather Advisory until 8:00 p.m. A Blizzard warning continues for portions of West Polk…Kittson…Roseau…West Marshall …Pembina and Walsh counties.
Northwest winds this morning sharply reduced visibility down to 1/4 mile or less. That was enough to cancel classes in most area schools including Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. A No Travel Advisory has been replaced with a Travel Alert for the immediate Grand Forks area. A No Travel Advisory is still posted for counties near the Canadian border.
The National Weather Service reported 1.9 inches of snow (7 a.m. reading). A wind gust of 51 mph was recorded at the Grand Forks Airport (GFK). A top speed of 70 was recorded near Devils Lake.
The highest weather impacts will occur through around midday before tapering off this afternoon.
