The North Dakota Water Commission will take up a request for a cost sharing agreement with Grand Forks on February 23rd regarding the proposed Fufeng Group project. The corn milling plant will need around 6.6 million gallons of raw water per day for its production facility on the city’s north side.
Grand Forks is asking the state to pay $1.2 million dollars of the $2 million dollar bill for pre-construction expenses – or 60%. The board did not express any immediate concerns related to the request at a pre-commission meeting last week.
The council will hold a work session this evening (Monday) to review a development agreement between the city and Fufeng.
