COVID-19 cases continue to climb in Grand Forks County with no signs of slowing down. The health department’s Michael Dulitz updated city and county leaders on the latest trends on Tuesday. Dulitz says one month ago the seven day case count was just over 200. Last week the numbers climbed to over 14-hundred. “We are at the highest case load since the start of the pandemic.”
Dulitz says along with the higher cases counts comes increased demand for testing. He adds despite lower hospitalization rates per case – the increased numbers could place significant burdens on health care systems.
Grand Forks has been in the orange or “high risk” categogy for COVID for 144 consecutive days.
