The North Dakota Highway Patrol is urging motorists to stay off secondary roads and be patient for reopening of I-29 and I-94. Several motorists are using secondary roads for travel which has resulted in resources being used to rescue these motorists. Secondary roads are not being cleared. Ongoing blizzard conditions combined with snow- packed, icy roads in the eastern part of North Dakota has led to hazardous travel conditions on all roads in the affected area.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and North Dakota Highway Patrol reopened all remaining portions of Interstate 94 and Interstate 29.

Reduced visibility and snow-covered conditions may still be present on highways throughout the state. Motorists are encouraged to slow down and drive for the conditions.

Cities Area Transit (CAT) will continue to run its regularly scheduled routes until 6 pm tonight. CAT’s night bus will NOT run tonight as scheduled due to the weather.

The University of North Dakota campus in Grand Forks closed at noon Monday, Dec. 27, due to anticipated winter weather.

Also, Grand Forks Public Health’s COVID-19 testing event, scheduled to take place tomorrow, from 7– 11 a.m., at the Fritz Pollard Jr. Athletic Center, is canceled, due to the potential for inclement weather. COVID-19 testing will resume at the Pollard Center on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 7 – 11 a.m.

Due to inclement weather, all Northland campuses are closed on Monday, December 27, 2021. All Northland campuses are scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, December 2.

Valley City State University is delaying opening until 10 a.m. on Monday, December 27. Offices will open as normal at that time.

DEVELOPMENT HOMES, INC. MAIN OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY 12/27 DUE TO WEATHER.

The Grand Forks Senior Center will be closed Monday. There will be no meal delivery including Home Delivered Meals and Meals on Wheels.

Northeast Human Service Center will open at 1:00 p.m.

Due to current weather conditions, the Grand Forks County Office Building and the Grand Forks County Courthouse will be closing at 1:00 pm.

The Fosston Public Library will not open today, December 27, due to weather conditions.

The Fargo Motor Vehicle office will be closed today at 10:00 AM. The Jamestown Motor Vehicle office will be closed all day today. The Grafton Motor Vehicle office will be open today at 11:00 AM. The Beulah Motor Vehicle office will be closed all day today.
