West Fargo studying sales tax option

By Doug Barrett Dec 21, 2021 | 7:49 AM

West Fargo voters could see a one-half cent sales tax on the ballot        in 2022.  The city is considering the tax as a way to help fund public safety – fire and police.

Supporters point to rising demands for service with West Fargo police reporting a 20% jump in calls from 2017 to 2021 and the fire department seeing a 300% jump.

The West Fargo Commission voted Monday night to allow staff to continue researching the sales tax ballot question and to report back at a future meeting.
