By Doug Barrett Nov 29, 2021 | 6:53 AM

A Sunday morning fire sent one person to Altru Hospital with burn injuries.

The Grand Forks Fire Department was called to 3400 24th Avenue South around 9:30 a.m.  When crews arrived they found smoke inside the apartment building but no active fire.

The G-F-F-D says a fire extinguisher had been discharged before arrival.  During the course of the investigation firefighters found damage to the kitchen cabinets.  The smoke was cleared and tenants were allowed back into the building.  The extent of the injuries to one resident is unknown.

No dollar estimate of the damage was released.  The cause is under investigation.
