The fundraising goal to bring a Career Impact Academy to Grand Forks has exceeded the $10 million dollar mark.
Supporters announced the milestone collection on Monday. The hope is to secure a state matching grant.
EDC President Keith Lund says a lot of people came together to come up with the cash. “There is still much work to do but I think we should take a moment to celebrate and reflect on how fortunate we are to live and work in a region where the School District, City, County, civic organizations and over 60 businesses will come together under a common cause to make a positive impact on our future.”
The fundraising goal was launched in mid-September. The CIA is intended to offer career programming to both high school and adult learners.
The Grand Forks School Board last night (Monday) approved making application to the state to help fund the facility. The deadline is December 1st.
