
The State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of a fire in Mahnomen over the weekend. The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s office says multiple agencies responded to the blaze at the Cenex store near Highways 200 and 59 on Saturday evening. There were no injuries. The S-O says all items of value were removed. The public is urged to stay away from the site due to the structural integrity of the building.

An early Sunday morning fire in the Polk County community of Trail (MN) destroyed a home and left two people injured. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s office fire teams from Gonvick and Oklee responded to the call shortly after midnight. Authorities say the blaze was caused by a 20 pound propane tank that was brought into the house to thaw out. The resident was identified as Jonathan Wilson – who along with a child – sustained minor injuries. The S-O says the house was deemed a complete loss.
