An airline serving Grand Forks has canceled all flights in and out of the G-F-K in December.
Airport executive director Ryan Riesinger said he had no advance notice of the decision by Allegiant Air.
He said the reason is not a staffing shortage… but an aircraft shortage.
Reisinger said Allegiant is replacing some of its older aircraft…and they are behind schedule in retrofitting the new planes.
Riesinger said Allegiant passengers who had flights scheduled in December will get some compensation via vouchers or rebates.
Riesinger said, in all, 44 cities lost Allegiant flights. He said he doesn’t foresee any further cancellations.
