Armed with a $100,000 dollar tourism grant supporters of an effort to bring a children’s museum to Grand Forks say the funding will help launch the project beyond the conceptual stage.
As KNOX News reported last week the Grand Forks Center for Exploration project was one of five proposals selected statewide for a 2021 Tourism Planning Grant.
A steering committee has announced plans to build a destination playground adjacent to the Center for Exploration. Unlike standard neighborhood parks, destination playgrounds draw visitors due to their unique themes and large play structures.
The official location of the future Center for Exploration is in the final process of being secured.
