A 24-year old man has pleaded guilty to second degree murder in connection with the death of a woman on the Red Lake Indian Reservation.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says William Jones IV is accused of assaulting his girlfriend on November 6th – the woman later died from her injuries.
Authorities say Jones assaulted the victim and tossed her against a wall. After the assault the woman fell to the floor and remained unconscious for almost two days.
When the victim’s mother saw her daughter she called emergency crews who brought the victim to a Fargo hospital. Doctors determined that the victim suffered a traumatic brain injury. She died November 22nd.
A sentencing date for Jones is pending.
