An East Grand Forks (MN) woman is under arrest after sideswiping a North Dakota Highway Patrol vehicle on I-94 near Jamestown last night.
Authorities say the trooper was stopped assisting a stranded motorist on the eastbound median shoulder shortly before 7:30 p.m. With emergency lights activated – and a tow truck on the scene – a car approached and hit the squad.
The NDHP says the motorist continued to travel eastbound on I-94. The trooper left the scene and stopped the driver who was identified as 51-year old Angela Fickert.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department arrested Fickert for driving under suspension and on an outstanding Morton County (ND) arrest warrant. Fickert was also cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving without liability insurance.
No one was injured in the crash.
