
Saturday night storms hit portions of southeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota according to the National Weather Service
The system produced downburst winds, heavy rain, and two tornadoes. An EF-1 twister with estimated peak winds of 100 mph touched down near Park Rapids about 10:35 p.m. The tornado damaged trees…tore large metal roof panels from a church and snapped a power pole.
In southeast North Dakota an EF-0 (zero) tornado, with estimated peak winds of 70 mph touched down briefly over an open field.
In Fergus Falls, straight-line winds also downed trees and knocked out power to more than 4200 Otter Tail Power customers. Crews worked into Sunday to fully restore power.
The NWS office in Grand Forks picked up 1.52 inches of rain over the weekend.
