NDHP reports tough weekend for accidents & fatalities

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating an early morning double fatality.  Authorities say two vehicles crashed head-on in a construction zone about seven-miles south of Fargo around 1:16 a.m.  Both drivers were killed including a 65 year old male from Moorhead and a 27 year old Fargo man.  One passenger in each vehicle also sustained  injuries.

A Saturday crash south of Hunter (ND) involved two vehicles.  One driver was killed.  The victim said to be an 82 year old man from Devils Lake.  The accident occurred on Highway 18 around 2:45 p.m.

A 44 year old Grand Forks man suffered serious injuries when he was tossed off his motorcycle west of Oslo on I-29.  The NDHP says Jason Kazmierczak failed to negotiate a curve of the exit ramp and ran off the road.  The accident was reported at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday.

A two vehicle accident on US 2 at Lake View Drive Saturday afternoon left a 21 year old Elmore man with serious injuries.  The NDHP says it was a rear-end style accident just east of Devils Lake around 3:20 p.m.

A car-semi crash near Mentor on Sunday injured one driver.  The Minnesota Highway Patrol reports both vehicles were heading west on Highway 2 when they collided.  26-year old Yesenia Cantu of Stephen (MN) was transported to the hospital in Crookston with non-life threatening injuries.  The 60-year old semi driver was not injured.

A three semi accident in Polk County on Sunday left one driver with serious injuries.  Authorities say all three vehicles were heading east on Polk County 17 when the accident occurred.  50-year old Reyes Bustamant-Jr of Grand Forks was transported to Altru Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
