EGF eyes streaming service for sports

By Doug Barrett Sep 22, 2021 | 8:15 AM

Without discussion the East Grand Forks council approved an agreement last night (Tuesday) with Youth Sports Plus to stream hockey games from the city’s three ice arenas.

The games would be broadcast over the internet for fans to watch for a fee.  The company would pay for and install a camera system with the capability of automatically zooming in and out of the action.  A second camera would display the scoreboard.

Revenue from the Pay per View would be shared 50-50 between Youth Sports Plus and the city.  East Grand Forks Public Schools reportedly also plans to enter into an agreement for Green Wave hockey events.

The proposed contract did not spell out the cost per game.
