The University of North Dakota is looking for a new Vice President for Student Affairs. The move follows the dismissal of Dr. Cara Halgren from the post.
UND President Andrew Armacost announced the move in a letter to the campus community Tuesday afternoon. Armacost said “it is in the best interest of the University to part ways with Dr. Cara Halgren.”
Halgren was the subject of a discrimination claim by former UND Police Chief Eric Plummer over his political stance. Armacost urged faculty and staff to refrain from speculating about the decision and to continue to work together to move forward.
Plummer left UND in February for the job of chief of police at Radford University in Virginia.
Armacost says UND will launch a national search for a permanent Vice President for Student Affairs. The timeline…process…and search committee structure will be detailed at a later date.
