A woman found swimming in the Red River Sunday evening was pulled to safety by water rescue teams from Grand Forks and East Grand Forks.

Grand Forks police received a report of a suicidal female in the river near the pump station at 3500 Belmont Road shortly before 7:30 p.m.  Two rescue boats were launched and the woman was recovered without injury.  The individual was brought to shore at the Lincoln Park boat ramp where an Altru ambulance was standing by.

Authorities say given the nature of the call no other further information is being released at this time.
