Serious injury accidents and fatalities are starting to pile up in North Dakota.
The Highway Patrol says a head on crash on North Dakota Highway 22 in McKenzie County last night (Thursday) left both drivers injured. A 28-year old man was airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. The road was closed for five hours for cleanup and investigation.
An 81-year old woman from Tacoma (WA) was killed when the SUV she was a passenger in collided with a Pierce County Prisoner Transport Van. The NDHP says the accident occurred at the intersection of North Dakota 200 and 14 around 11:00 a.m. Authorities say the transport van missed a stop sign striking the SUV causing it to overturn. A total of four people were hospitalized.
There have been 62 fatalities on North Dakota roads to date in 2021.
