NWS issues summary of Monday’s Beltrami Co. tornadoes

The National Weather Service has released its damage survey of some Monday evening storms in Minnesota’s Beltrami County that produced tornadoes and hail.

 

The first EF-1 tornado near the city of Red Lake lasted two minutes and traveled one mile … with a peak wind of 95 miles per hour.

 

A second EF-1 tornado near Redby traveled four miles in six minutes…with a peak wind of 95 miles per hour.

 

And an EF-0 tornado with a peak wind of 80 miles an hour was reported in the Nebish Township area.  It traveled nine miles over 13 minutes.

 

The storms damaged light poles and structures … and uprooted or snapped numerous trees.

 

No injuries were reported.
