NDUS launches search for campus president

By Doug Barrett Jul 23, 2021 | 8:10 AM

The North Dakota University System doesn’t want to waste any time in finding the next president of NDSU.  Last month it was announced that current President Dean Bresciani would step down by December 2022 and transition into a tenured faculty position.

Chancellor Mark Hagerott told the state Board of Higher Education on Thursday it’s important to get the process going to attract the best possible candidates.  “A national treasure…a gem of NDSU…I guarantee you there will be a wave of applications for a university like that….we got to get going.”

The estimated cost of the search and consultant fees is upwards of $100,000 dollars.

The board named NDSU V-P Greg Lardy and board member Jill Louters as co-chairs of the search committee.

Bresciani has held the post since 2010.
