Fargo firefighters responded to a blaze at a row of garages at the Waterstone Apartments around 1:30 this morning. Four vehicles inside the garages were destroyed. A van parked outside the structure was also destroyed. The blaze did not spread to the nearby apartment building and residents who were evacuated as a precaution were allowed to return.
While firefighters were still mopping up that fire, another fire call came in just after 3:00 a.m. The fire was in a second-floor apartment on the city’s south side.
A few tenants had jumped from second floor balconies as firefighters were arriving. There were no reported injuries for both incidents.
Fire crews were able to get a quick knockdown – but there was damage to the unit. It appears the fire started in the kitchen area.
