Today (Tue) is day three of testimony in the trial of 42-year-old Salamah Pendleton, charged in the May 2020 shooting deaths of his mother and Grand Forks Police Officer Cody Holte.
Testifying today (Tue) were two Grand Forks County Sheriff’s deputies.
Kelly McLean and Ron Nord said they tried to serve Pendelton with an eviction notice at his apartment… but forced their way in when Pendleton would not open the door.
Jurors viewed McLean and Nord’s body-cam video and saw several exchanges of gunfire.
After the last exchange, Pendelton exclaimed, “I’m dead.” He was, in fact, wounded.
Holte was wounded in that exchange and later died.
Pendleton’s mother Lola Moore was shot and killed in an earlier exchange.
Nord was wounded.
McLean testified that he did not think he would get out of the apartment alive.
