A 30 year old rural Emerado (ND) man is recovering from injuries after driving a homemade go-cart on a closed stretch of Highway 2. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Richard Sonterre suffered non-life threatening injuries. Here is the NDHP description of the crash.
NDHP NARRATIVE:
Sonterre was driving the go-cart west on the closed westbound lanes of US Highway 2. He drove the go-cart over a gap in the concrete, and the go-cart impacted the concrete on the opposite side of the gap. Sonterre was ejected. He was transported to by ambulance to Altru Hospital with significant but non-life-threatening injuries.
The normal westbound lanes in this area are closed for road construction and are part of a construction project.
Charges: Driving on a closed road, exhibition driving, driving without liability insurance.
