Dean Bresciani has been president of North Dakota State University since 2010. But he will step down in 2022 to become a tenured professor in Health Sciences and Education at NDSU.
Nick Hacker, chair of the North Dakota Board of Higher Education, made the surprise announcement at today’s (Tue’s) board meeting of the North Dakota Board of Higher Education in Minot.
“NDSU has been fortunate to have Dr.Bresciani at the helm and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” Hacker said.
There was no discussion of why Bresciani will resign.
The arrangement was approved by the Board on a 6-to-1 vote. The only “no” vote was cast by the student member, Erica Solberg, who is an NDSU student.
Hacker said Bresciani would be involved in the search for his successor.
Bresciani is NDSU’s 14th president.
