Another road reconstruction project is being planned for downtown Grand Forks. The city is looking to utilize $1.6 million dollars in federal funding to revamp North 4th Street from DeMers to 1st Avenue North.
Two designs will be presented to the city council on June 14th. The first one will be similar to the existing layout with parallel parking… decorative pavers…streetscape features…and bump-outs.
The second option would incorporate a buffered bike lane into the project and require the reconstruction of the new intersection at DeMers Avenue. Option #2 would cost about one-million dollars more.
A public information meeting to discuss the project is set for this evening. Construction would take place in 2022.
