Grand Forks will see further growth to the south under a housing plan being filed with the city. Crary Development is looking to build homes on a section of land south of 62nd and west of Washington.
To support the development the city would need to invest in additional infrastructure – including a sanitary lift station and force main. City Administrator Todd Feland says the goal is to find the right combination of new and infill development.
The center of the development would feature a meandering stormwater pond that will be bordered by a two mile long bike/walking path and fire pits. In the winter the pond could be cleared for ice skating.
The development would feature a variety of housing from single-family homes to townhomes and apartments. There would also be some space set aside of commercial use.
