The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department honored a pair of deputies and a staff nurse at the J-R Simplot plant  for recent life-sustaining measures.   The awards were presented this afternoon on behalf of the North Dakota Peace Officers Association.

Deputy Adam Vonasek and Simplot’s Shauna Weber responded to a male who collapsed and lost consciousness at the Gateway Drive plant.  Vonasek and Weber performed CPR and used a heart defibrillator to save the man who was rushed to Altru Hospital and survived.

Deputy Noah Prudhomme received a life-saving award for assisting a female in Gilby (ND) who had a seizure and lost consciousness.  Prudhomme and paramedics were able to regain a pulse and the woman survived the medical emergency.
