GF schools select architect for new K-8 complex

By Doug Barrett May 25, 2021 | 8:38 AM

With the referendum less than a month away the Grand Forks School Board selected an architect last night (Monday) to design a potential K-8 campus on the city’s north side.   JLG Architects will work on the project to merge West… Wilder…and Winship with Valley Middle School.

In addition ICON Architects will provide design work and coordination for improvements at eleven other schools in the district.  EAPC Architects will provide expertise for secure entryway projects.

Building and Grounds Director Chris Arnold says there is a lot of work to be done.  “$86 million dollars is a lot of money and it is a lot of work….each of the teams brought unique characteristics.”

School officials were quick to point out that any work that is done by the firms prior to the June 22nd election comes “at risk” and at no cost to the district should the referendum fail.
