ND: Pfizer COVID shot for kids 12 and up

By Doug Barrett May 13, 2021 | 7:58 AM

Federal officials this week approved the use of the Pfizer vaccine for children between 12 and 15-years of age.  The manager of North Dakota’s Immunization programs — Molly Howell – says it’s a change that could help protect a lot of individuals.

Howell says deciding whether or not to get the vaccine is a personal decision – but it’s something every parent needs to consider.

Howell says North Dakota has recorded 20-hospitalizations in children 12-17 and one COVID-related fatality since the state of the pandemic.

Altru is now offering the vaccine to children 12 and older in all our primary care clinics. Anyone seeking a COVID-19 vaccination is required to have consent from a parent or legal guardian.
