Labor groups paid tribute to workers who died or suffered illnesses and injuries on the job during a ceremony in Grand Forks last night (Wednesday). The names of 18 North Dakotans and 80 Minnesota workers were remembered.
Every year, on April 28, the nation recognizes Workers Memorial Day. This year special emphasis was placed on every day essential workers who put their lives on the line during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The group also plugged the need for stronger worker protections across the country.
The event at Bringwatt Park was organized by the Northern Valley Labor Council.
