Fire damages hotel in Fargo

By Doug Barrett Apr 17, 2021 | 9:16 AM

Fargo firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire shortly before 5:00 a.m. this morning. When Fire teams arrived at the Grand Inn Hotel flames were visible through a window of a second floor room that was completely involved. A second alarm was called because of the potential for a large number of rescues.

Crews were able to make a quick knock down within about seven minutes of the first engine’s arrival. A search was conducted of the entire building and no occupants were found as they had all evacuated on their own.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. Fire damage was limited to a single room and smoke damage appears to be limited to the adjoining room on each side. Almost all of the contents of the room were consumed in the fire. An initial damage estimate was set at $25,000.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
