What took months to build took only days to demo. Work crews have been able to raze old Memorial Stadium. The 1927 structure has been removed in favor of a new $25 million dollar Memorial Village Development project. The first floor will house UND Athletics and the remaining four floors market rent apartments.
The Grand Forks council tonight (Monday) is expected to approve bids to relocate a sanitary sewer force main. The current line dates back to 1960 and would run under a portion of the new building. The engineer estimate for the work is $399,880 dollars. Bids were secured last week.
Current plans call for Memorial Village construction to start this spring with an August completion date.
