Grand Forks health officials say at the current pace they should be able to offer vaccine to all adults in April. Health Director Deb Swanson says the only thing standing in the way are the allocation doses they receive.
Right now the county is vaccinating those in the Phase 1-C group – essential workers and people of any age at increased risk for COVID-19.
The latest numbers show 79% of the 75 and older crowd has received at least one dose of vaccine…83% of those 65-74 have rolled up their sleeves….and 22% of those 18-64 have received a shot. All of those numbers are above the statewide average (70%…67%…and 20% respectively).
Meanwhile….upwards of three-fourths of county school personnel have received at least a first dose of vaccine.
On a related note after 22 days of being in the green or “low risk” category for COVID-19 the local health dashboard climbed back into yellow or “moderate risk” category on Wednesday. New cases and cases per 100,000 over the past seven days in Grand Forks County prompted the change.
