Falling COVID-19 case counts may soon allow East Grand Forks school officials to re-evaluate the current learning model for students and staff. Right now elementary grades are meeting in-person and middle and high school students hit the books with a hybrid model. Superintendent Mike Kollness says despite a few positive cases of COVID since the holiday break things seem to have settled down. “A lot of positives…I do think we need to start considering the potential of bringing back our middle school students maybe in late February if the trend continues.”

Kollness says 16 staff members are scheduled for COVID-19 vaccine shots in Thief River Falls (MN) later this week.

During a special school board meeting this morning (Tuesday) members approved initial plans and drawings for the 2021 construction plan. The bulk of the work will take place at Central Middle…South Point…and New Heights. Project bids are due February 4th
