UND hockey schedule changes

By Pat Sweeney Jan 13, 2021 | 11:54 AM

The National Collegiate Hockey Conference today announced several alterations to schedules for the next two week’s games. Included in those are second-ranked North Dakota’s next two series, as its scheduled Friday-Saturday tilts with Denver will move back two days and the ensuing home weekend with Colorado College will move back one day.

Due to a combination of positive COVID-19 tests, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining of individuals the past two weekends, all NCHC West division games were shifted. The Omaha at Colorado College games will now be played on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 18-19. The other affected series is the Minnesota Duluth at Miami series, which has been postponed to Jan. 29-30.

Both UND at Denver games will start at 7:07 p.m. MT.

The puck drop times for UND’s home opener are 6:07 CT on both Saturday, Jan. 23 and Sunday, Jan. 24.

UND Hockey tickets originally distributed for Friday, January 22 will now be valid for the rescheduled game on Sunday, January 24. Tickets originally issued for Saturday, January 23 will still be valid for that game.

The decision to postpone and reschedule these series is consistent with the National Collegiate Hockey Conference’s COVID-19 protocols, developed by the Conference’s Health & Safety Competitions Committee, as well as the Conference’s Game Schedule Policy, developed by the NCHC’s Athletic Council.

SINGLE-GAME TICKET SALES INFO
The University of North Dakota Department of Athletics has announced updated hockey ticket sales information for the January 23 and 24 NCHC series versus Colorado College. The weekend series between the Fighting Hawks and the Tigers will now be played on Saturday, January 23 and Sunday, January 24, as opposed to the original Friday – Saturday weekend schedule because of required NCHC schedule changes attributed to prior COVID-19 positive tests. Game time both January 23 and 24 will be 6:07 p.m. with doors to Ralph Engelstad Arena scheduled to open at 5:00 p.m. each evening.

Based on the recent update to the North Dakota Smart Restart Large Gathering Capacity Chart, UND Athletics is announcing that additional tickets will be made available for the January 23 and 24 series on a single game basis. UND Hockey season ticket holders, including all those who renewed for the 2020-2021 hockey season (bowl, suites, and clubs), will be provided with an exclusive online pre-sale opportunity from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19 through 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 21 to purchase tickets for the Colorado College series. An email with an exclusive season ticket holder “promo code” will be sent directly to all UND Hockey season ticket holder accounts in advance of the pre-sale. This promo code will be used online by season ticket holders to purchase tickets via www.ticketmaster.com. All single game tickets for season ticket holders are subject to availability.

All unsold single game tickets will be made available to the general public at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 21 following the season ticket holder pre-sale at www.ticketmaster.com. All general public tickets are subject to availability.

Single game ticket prices for the Colorado College series are as follows:
Lower Bowl seats are $89, plus applicable ticketing fees.
Upper Bowl seats are $69, plus applicable ticketing fees.
There are no additional North Dakota Champions Club investments required for single game hockey ticket purchases.

In accordance with state guidelines that require physically distancing standards to be maintained at all times, the seating capacity at Ralph Engelstad Arena will be just under 3,000 fans for the January 23 and 24 series. All seating will be reserved seating in accordance with physical distancing requirements and to allow for contact tracing, if necessary. There will be a ticket limit of 4 tickets per account, per game. The majority of single game tickets will be sold in pods of 2 and must be purchased as such. There are a very limited number of pods with 3 or 4 tickets per pod, all of which will need to be purchased in the pre-determined quantities to maintain appropriate physical distancing standards.

Masks are mandatory at Ralph Engelstad Arena and masks may only be removed while actively eating or drinking in a physically distanced seat. Physical distancing must be maintained at all times in common areas. UND Athletics will continue to monitor university, local and state guidelines and recommendations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and will adjust accordingly as necessary.
