
Alcohol may have played a role in Saturday’s crash near downtown Grand Forks that left three people dead. Grand Forks police say a 21-year old Crookston woman was traveling at a high rate of speed when she hit a total of three vehicles near DeMers and North 5th Street. The driver died as a result of her injuries. Police Lt-Derik Zimmel called it a senseless tragedy….
The GFPD identified the suspect driver as Jenessa Kelley.
Zimmel says witness reports suggest the vehicle was traveling in excess of 70 mph prior to the accident.
The GFPD says a 52-year old driver and a 72-year old passenger from Fertile (MN) were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals were injured. The intersection was closed to traffic for about four hours.
