Semi burns along I-29

No one was injured when a semi hauling an empty trailer caught fire on I-29 at the Reynolds exit shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning (Monday). The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department says the driver was able to pull the truck over after experiencing engine problems. The GFSO says the engine compartment caught fire but the driver was able to douse the flames using a fire extinguisher. The truck was deemed a total loss.
