A murder suspect was arrested by a North Dakota state trooper during a routine traffic stop Tuesday afternoon on I-94 near Mapleton (ND).
Shortly before 1:30 PM, a car was stopped for an equipment violation.
The trooper then saw the male driver and female passenger switch seats.
The man, identified as 20-year-old Joseph Morrison of Auburn, Washington, had an active warrant for first-degree murder out of Des Moines, Washington.
A vehicle search found a disassembled 9-millimeter Glock handgun hidden in the car. Authorities say the slide of the gun was modified in a way that could turn it into a fully automatic weapon.
Morrison was arrested for his warrant and also charged with possession of a machine gun.
The female passenger, 20-year-old, Ajannae Sancartier of Kent, Washington, was arrested and charged with possession of a machine gun… and false information to law enforcement.
Both suspects were booked into Cass County jail.
