ND & MN fatal crashes

A two vehicle crash in Minnesota’s Kandiyohi County has left three people dead. The Minnesota State Patrol says the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on County Road 2 when they collided. The accident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Authorities have not released the names of the individuals pending notification of relatives.

Authorities say five people were killed when a driver ran a red light and slammed into their vehicle in Minneapolis after a state trooper spotted him speeding. Minneapolis police said in a statement that the driver was on Interstate 35 when the trooper first encountered him around 10 p.m. Friday. Police say the driver exited the highway before the trooper could initiate a traffic stop and crashed into another vehicle with four women and a girl inside. All five were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the suspect ran from the crash scene but officers found him and took him into custody. He was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.

A 20-year old man from Montana was seriously injured when he crashed his motorcycle into a turning SUV in western North Dakota.  The accident occurred late Friday night near Williston (ND)  The NDHP says Keiran Hernandez was transported to the Williston Hospital and later transferred to  a Fargo medical facility.  The driver of the SUV was not hurt.
