ND introduces latest vaccine into the marketplace

By Doug Barrett Mar 4, 2021 | 9:01 AM

The third COVID-19 vaccine is expected to arrive in North Dakota tomorrow (Friday.)  State immunization program director Molly Howell says 63-hundred doses of Johnson and Johnson will be delivered across the state.  Howell says although the options are increasing the biggest question surrounding the vaccines is unchanged.

Howell says while the demand for shots has been strong – it is not universal.  “I think there was a core group of people when this vaccine came out that said I am getting it.  There’s another group of wait and see…and there’s a smaller group that says I am never getting the vaccine.”

Howell says a lot of the hesitancy to get the vaccine is due to misinformation circulating about the drugs.  She says it may take some time and additional education to get those on the fence in to roll up their sleeves.
