Grand Forks Firefighters Respond to Apartment Fire

(KNOX) -At approximately 11:00 PM on Sunday, October 6th, the Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched to 1120 N 39th St. for a structure fire.

Fire crews arrived on scene of an 8-plex apartment building, to find significant fire and heavy smoke coming from an apartment unit on the first floor.

The fire was extinguished, with heavy fire damage to the apartment unit involved. Moderate fire damage was sustained to the outside balcony and eave above the fire area.

All occupants were displaced due to the fire and are being assisted.

The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, one ladder truck, and one command vehicle with twenty-one personnel.

There were no injuries to the public or fire service personnel.

The Fire Department was assisted by Altru Ambulance, Grand Forks Police Department, Grand Forks Water Department, and various relief organizations.
