Grand Forks Police Chief Last Day is This Week

(KNOX) -This Friday is the last day on the job for Grand Forks Police Chief Mark Nelson.

Mayor Brandon Bochenski said that Nelson has been with the Grand Forks Police Department for a long time.

“He’s been with the Grand Forks Police Department for 36 years. He served as police chief for almost ten years,” said Bochenski said. “I want to thank Chief Nelson a job well done and a career well done. Thank you for your service. His last day will be Friday, September 20, so this will be his last council meeting. I’m sure he will attend many more as a citizen, because these are so enjoyable,”

Bochenski gave the chief a sendoff at a city council meeting this week.

“Chief Nelson, just wanted to give you congratulations. I think this probably won’t do you justice,” Bochenski said.
