(KNOX) -The Northlands Rescue Mission in Grand Forks is having its banquet this coming Thursday.

“This is our annual Mission of Hope Banquet, and it will be held at the Alerus. We’ll start out the evening at 5 o’clock with cocktail hour,” Sue Shirek, executive director of the Northlands Mission, told KNOX News.

Shirek said it is a way to honor those who make it possible for the mission to carry out their job.

“It gives us a chance to thank people who have gone above and beyond to support the work that we do,” Shirek said. “We have a lot of partnerships in the community. A lot of people who volunteer. A lot of people who donate a lot of time and money. It’s about saying thank you to those people and giving them some of the recognition they deserve as well.”

The event begins at 5 p.m. this Thursday at the Alerus Center Ballroom, located at 1200 S. 42nd St, Grand Forks. Dinner and the program are at 7 p.m. with music provided by the Downtown Horns.

Shirek says anyone who needs more information on tickets to the event can call the Northlands Rescue Mission at 701-772-6600 or email sue@jointhemission.org.
